The latest news from APTOS crypto comes with the Aptos Names Service (ANS) feature to make online transactions easier.

For your information, APTOS is a scalable proof-of-stake (PoS) layer-1 (L1) blockchain that uses a new smart contract programming language, called “Move.”

The APTOS project was developed by Aptos Labs, a blockchain startup led by Mark Zuckerberg's two former subordinates at Meta Inc., who were formerly involved in the development of Diem.

The two are Mo Shaikh and Avery Ching, along with Josh Lind who is also a former employee of Meta Inc.

With the Move programming language, APTOS is expected to be able to achieve a theoretical transaction throughput of more than 100,000 transactions per second. It is considered Solana's greatest rival, earning him the nickname "Solana Killer."

For its native cryptocurrency, the APT coin, comes with a total supply of 1 billion, and 130 million coins in circulation. There are about 82.83 million APT staked with 102 validators involved in the network.

Based on the company's official blog report, Aptos has brought a new feature called ANS.

The ANS feature allows all users to use a human-readable “.apt” name for their Aptos wallet address, instead of just a public key.

With ANS, developers see this will be able to increase user adoption to a wider level. The new feature also ensures that online applications are friendlier and more accessible.

The following are the benefits and features presented by ANS:

Better User Experience, by offering users an efficient “.apt” address, to make it easier for humans to read. The address “,apt” makes it easier to send and receive funds, and minimize the occurrence of fraud and errors in use (human error).

Unique Web3 Identity, makes Aptos user identity on Web3 more unique and easy to recognize in interacting between users.

Target address and subdomain, allows users to set a target address for their Aptos name, as well as add subdomains.

Using your own Name, has been possible in the Aptos wallet since day one. This makes sending and receiving funds easier.

ANS currently supports names in 3+ characters, as well as Latin characters, numbers and dashes. 

To get the Aptos name, you just need to do:

1.Log in to your Aptos wallet (download it first if you haven't already have),

2.Search for the name Aptos,

3.Click “Register” to buy a name,

4. Approve the transaction,

5. Go to “My Domains,”

6. Go to settings"

7.Update “New Target Address” and click “Update”
